Macbeth Essay On Good Behavior
Number of words: 1092 - Number of pages: 4.... the crown:
Glamis thou art, and Cawdor, and shalt be
What thou art promise'd: yet do I fear thy nature,
It is too full o' the milk of human kindness
To catch the nearest way. Thou wouldst be great,
Art not without ambition…(I.V.15-19)
This shows how little Lady Macbeth cares about her husband's wishes. This is very ironic since normally it is the man who does not ask for approval. Even when Macbeth disagrees to her plan, Lady Macbeth starts taunting her husband and calls him a coward: "…Art thou afeared/To be the same in thine own act and valour/As thou art in desire?…" .....

A Tale Of Two Cities: Reversal Of Characters
Number of words: 513 - Number of pages: 2.... Old Bailey

Another interesting change took place in the character of Madame Defarge.
She is first portrayed as a woman of principle who is helping her husband with
the revolution. However, Madame Defarge makes a startling metamorphosis from
supporting character to antagonist when she is revealed to be the shadow. She
is shown to be cruel and petty, not the compassionate woman one would assume of
a leader of a revolution against tyranny. This part of the novel casts a
shadow of doubt over the rest of the characters, and one begins to question the
validity of all .....

Hawthorne also uses black and darkness as symbols thr .....
