Graduation
Number of words: 618 - Number of pages: 3.... on the campus of
the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. The ceremonies were to begin at
7:00p.m., yet I had to be there at 6:00p.m.. When everyone arrived we
rehearsed on how we were to walk in and where we were going to sit. You could
the excitement in everyone’s eyes. No one could wait for the moment in which our
diplomas would be handed to us. They lined us up by height with the boys to one
side and the girls to the other. Each boy was paired up with a girl and was to
walk in side by side with her when the ceremonies began. Once the couple reached
the grandstands, where .....

Society Sucks
Number of words: 1547 - Number of pages: 6.... man…Thanks for asking though” That is what should happen…but no…that wouldn’t be allowed…it’s a fair choice…No one would EVER let that happen…
If I could just tell off whoever created us…UHH!! What I wouldn’t give… Don’t get me wrong though…I mean I have faith…I have a religion…but my beliefs are viewed as ‘wrong’ by half the world (or more) so, I just keep my mouth shut most of the time… I can tell that this already looks like I’m in a show narrating…kinda like ‘my so-called life’…but the problem is, it’s not…it’s nothing more than a .....

My Vision Of Tomorrow
Number of words: 621 - Number of pages: 3.... robots, computers, and other automatons. Many
simple tasks done today by humans such as cooking, cleaning, and repairing
household items will be done by these machines much more quickly and efficiently
and with less pollution. Almost all of the current manual labor jobs,
especially in the United States, will become obsolete and robots will do all of
the work for us. The advantages of using robots and computers include no pay,
no time off, and no complaints or questions asked. Also, nearly every job in
the future will require extensive knowledge and skills of computers and anyone
without th .....

Difficulty In Making An Important Decision
Number of words: 385 - Number of pages: 2.... made me feel uncomfortable and insecure. If I failed or could
not find a new position, what would my family think of me? Failing at a new
career would also cause me to lose confidence in myself. These concerns,
failure and financial, and not finding a new job made this decision very
difficult.
The decision to choose a new career was an extremely important one. The sole
function of a career is not just to provide a means to make a living; it
should have a larger purpose. The work I was doing did little for others,
and in fact, served only a small, special interest group. .....

Creative Writing: Funeral
Number of words: 305 - Number of pages: 2.... head."
Kipps admitted he was moved that a woman who looked as if she might be at
death's door her self had made the effort to attend the funeral.
He noted that the enigmatic women in black disappeared after the burial.
When Mr. Kipps inquired of Mr. Jerome as to her identity, the latter was deeply
shocked.
"I did not see a young woman," said Jerome.
She reappeared moments after Jerome had told Kipps that he had seen no-one, but
again was visible only to Mr. Kipps. Mr. Jerome appeared to be in a state of
some agitation, doubtless perturbed to think that the Drablow Ghost might be
on .....

The Nasty Restroom
Number of words: 479 - Number of pages: 2.... toothpaste stuck to the cold water handle were teeming with ants, and clumps of hair gripped tightly to the drain. After thoroughly washing my hands under the hot water, I blindly grabbed for a paper towel from the mold covered dispenser. In a rush, I attempted to dry my hands over the trash can when my ring slipped off my finger and into the disgusting pit of vile objects. At first I was upset at my loss, but then I became furious. I rolled up my sleeves and began to root through the sludge for it.
Inside, I witnessed a mass of matter I hadn’t until that day ever viewed so rank. First I c .....

Personal Writing: A Path Seldom Chosen - Solving Problems Without Violence
Number of words: 811 - Number of pages: 3.... in a full body cast , and suffered from leprosy, he
still could wipe the floor with my feeble body. I told him if he didn't
disfigure me, that I would offer to be his own personal reusable toothpick
for as long as he wished.
Violence and nonviolence are two very effective ways to solve
problems, but for people like me whose brains are stronger than their
fists, nonviolence seems much more practical and less harmful. I'm not a
tree hugging' hippy or a follower of Gandhi. I simply believe, and
history supports my beliefs, that violence and nonviolence are two
strategies of sol .....

Personal Writing: Childhood Invents That Influenced Me
Number of words: 795 - Number of pages: 3.... As a rule, for the best effect, these frightful
stories were told at nighttime in the garden. Everybody tried to look
very brave, including me. However, in the depth of my heart, I was afraid
of darkness. That’s why each time I returned home I did not walk, but ran
with the feeling that heroes of the stories would come alive and make
terrible trouble for me.
I don’t remember how long these story-telling sessions went on,
maybe a few months during the summer. It was so interesting to listen
while holding my breath and feeling horror in my heart. Later, I
understood that my so called .....

The Change
Number of words: 1728 - Number of pages: 7.... from
civilization this last weekend, it greatly affected my conceptualization of
the powerful world we live in. Looking up at the evening sky and observing
a broad expanse of thick clusters of stars, without artificial light,
breathing in cold, fresh, and pure air, absent contaminated, and seeing no
signs of humanity only solemn nature is as a moving and uplifting
experience. Too often today’s civilization becomes obsessed and entrenched
in modernization and technology that it forgets and neglects its roots.
We departed from the electric lights, indoor plumming, and
computer-controlled .....

Creative Writing: A Dream Come True
Number of words: 973 - Number of pages: 4.... that I hoped was that I would not be late
to work, I had been warned couple of times about me being late. Luckily the
bus too was late as usual.
As I was boarding the bus I looked up for a vacant seat. What I saw
then was quite unbelievable. Instead of looking for an empty seat I was
perving on a beautiful woman. She looked to be in her early 20s. The most
outstanding feature she had was her attractive blue eyes. Her clear eyes
did really amaze me. She had fair smooth skin and shiny blond hair. I have
never seen any one so beautiful in my whole life. I looked at her clear
blue eyes again, b .....
