In the End Bucks shear strength prevailed. Once the job was done, Buck was under a new owner. The duty was not to get the fastest time but to pull the most. It was grueling, heavy work each day. Jackie couldn’t do this because he expresses what he is feeling. He’s always battling with his sister. An especially memorable moment is when Jackie gets under the table and tries to stab Nora with a butter knife because she is trying to get him to eat grandmother’s food (O’Connor, 357). O’Connor was also a battler: he just fought on a more adult scale. For example, he fought an extra year in the civil .....

Polonius speaks to his son with advice that sounds sincere but in reality it is rehearsed, hollow and without feeling. Polonius gives his advice only to appear to be the loving caring father. The reality is he only speaks to appear sincere as a politician, to look good rather then actually be good: "And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. .... Anyone who will just openly sell their soul to the devil probably doesn’t have any concept of values. First of all Faustus refused to believe any religion. If a person has nothing to believe in for guidance how can they have values. Secondly , when he does get his magic from the devil he torments the Pope. Anyone with values would not do that. The presence of values had nothing to do with Faustus’s punishment. Even if he had values , that is still not reason to say he should not burn in hell for his actions. She says, "Oh, I marval how such a strong man [can be with] such a sickly wife" (23). Abigail obviously thinks highly of herself: she is worthy of Proctor's love, but Elizabeth is not. Abigail shows a character of superiority by her authoritative, prejudiced, and snobbish remarks. Abigail Williams also shows a tinge of resentment in the play.
