Master Harold... And The Boys
Number of words: 936 - Number of pages: 4.... it is in a book it "does not mean [he's] got to believe it" (1301). Sam believes that "Jesus Christ" (1302) was "a man of magnitude" (1300). Hally is obviously against Sam's suggestion of Jesus Christ, because Hally makes it clear that he is "an atheist" (1303). This disagreement between Sam and Hally is really just an example of the religious tensions in South Africa during Fugard's lifetime between the "Theory of Evolution," (1301) which was becoming more accepted, and Christianity, which was taught by Jesus Christ.
A second discussion between Sam and Hally that occurs after Hally learns t .....

Barbarians
Number of words: 1157 - Number of pages: 5.... and what impact the war had on people’s minds. Obviously, the Peloponesian War has brought a lot of stress and chaos into the society, so during this time some poets have foreseen the intellectual revolution. Euripides, however, was the first one who created the play where he opposed a barbarian to someone "civilized"; he has his Medea confront Jason. The civilized Jason is more barbaric in his emotional callousness than the barbarian Medea, but by the end of the play she exacts a barbaric penalty. The Nurse calls Medea a "strange woman." She is anything but typical. Euripides adm .....

In the middle is the White House press secretary Mike McCurry, a master at defusing volatile situations and walking the fine line with the press. Though less paranoid and cynical of the media than Clinton, he often finds himself on both ends of personal attacks and vendettas that veer far outside the arena of objective reporting. The anecdotes and carefully buried information that Kurtz has uncovered give this book a brisk pace, along with ample invaluable information that cuts to the core of this age of media overkill .....

The Night
Number of words: 596 - Number of pages: 3.... troops. I did not realize how much effect the book had on me until I noticed how much life has changed for Wiesel and the rest of the Jews and how unexpected this change was. The book shows the progression of an innocent twelve year old boy whose life was devoted to studying the Torah and was changed to a life of terror. The book also shows how the German forces were so harsh at breaking the spirits of the Jews.
Elie's faith in God, above all other things, is strong at the beginning of the novel, but grows weaker as time goes on. On the day of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, thous .....
