.... of the events that occurred during the story had any effect on the characters. In both books, the characters went on living as they always had. Even with all the similarities in the two novels, there was plenty of room left for differences. The setting was one noticeable difference. In The Sun Also Rises, the setting changed a lot. It moved from country to country, and from city to city. There were so many different places in the book that it was hard to keep track of all of them. On the other hand, The Old Man and the Sea, had only one setting. Another difference can be found in the imp .....

All action is inevitably confined within these four walls. When Frank invites Rita to his home for dinner in the play the audience are not set up for suspension as to how it will turn out since they already know that whatever happens will not take place before them, but will be retold. .... Antigone buries her brother and is sentenced to death. Her fiancee Heamon, and Creon's son, then opposes Creon but doesn't succeed either. In "A Few Good Men", Colonel Jessep also did what he believed even though he faced opposition. He ordered Dawson and Downey, two Marines who he knew would follow his orders without question, to do a Code Red on William Santiago, a mess-up Marine. A Code Red is a type of severe harassment in which something is do to toughen up the offending Marine.
