The First Amendment
Number of words: 2614 - Number of pages: 10.... "Freedom," he emphasizes the struggle to
enjoy the freedoms that he knows are rightfully his. He reflects the
American desire for freedom now when he says, "I do not need my freedom
when I'm dead. I cannot live on tomorrow's bread." He recognizes the need
for freedom in its entirety without compromise or fear.
I think Langston Hughes captures the essence of the American
immigrants' quest for freedom in his poem, "Freedom's Plow." He accurately
describes American's as arriving with nothing but dreams and building
America with the hopes of finding greater freedom or freedom for the fi .....

Is The Prime Minister Too Powerful?
Number of words: 1110 - Number of pages: 5.... ensured that the Government could maintain a united front in the face of parliamentary opposition. Within such a system, the PM could be described as 'primus inter pares' - first amongst equals - because, although he was the leading memberof the Government and its chief spokesman, it was the Cabinet rather than the PM that dominated the decision-making process.
Almost 100 years later, when Richard Crossman edited 'The English Constitution' and wrote its Foreword, he was able to state that the doctrine of Cabinet Government had itself been replaced by one of Prime Ministerial Governme .....

Federal Bureau Of Investigation
Number of words: 1181 - Number of pages: 5.... founded. The FBI's motto, "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity," appears on
the seal as a reminder of the qualities and motivating factors of the FBI
agents. The positioning of the words "Department of Justice" and "Federal
Bureau of Investigation" are also important, due to the fact that the FBI
falls under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department. Finally, the
jagged edges of the seal show the ruggedness of the Bureau and its ability
to withstand the test of time.
The FBI is the principal investigative arm of the United States
Department of Justice. It has the authority and res .....

Hunting The White-Tail Deer
Number of words: 708 - Number of pages: 3.... causes a hassle in major cities when people try to catch the deer without harming it. Debra Fluitt, a citizen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, said, “Last year a big white-tail deer came into my very own house as I was unloading groceries. When the police tried to get it out, it destroyed over $800 worth of my belongings and finally jumped through the window.” After the deer are captured in the city, they are taken back into an environment where food is scarce because of the over-populated deer that are already there. That deer then dies of starvation.
Furthermore, the white-tail deer is destroy .....

How Much Power Should The Fede
Number of words: 511 - Number of pages: 2.... purpose than enforcing belt laws. Even though it seems United States citizens should be able to make a simple decision on whether or not to wear a safety belt, the ever intrusive federal government makes the decision for its citizens.
The government further restricts our freedoms by enforcing jaywalking fines. If one does not walk in a crosswalk specified by the government a fine is issued. The government can trust its citizens to decide to work and pay belts, yet citizens cannot be trusted to decide where to cross the street. The simple freedom of choosing where to cross a particular .....

Global Stratification- A Socio
Number of words: 740 - Number of pages: 3.... in the public pool, or “hanging out” with their friends. Children in low-income countries, such as those in Southeast Asia spend their summer days in a factory for ten hours, making tennis shoes on insufficient food, and for few dollars a day. If you were to walk down the street in one of the world’s middle-income countries, like those in Eastern Europe, you would see signs of the (wealthy) Western nations all around. Teenagers would be sporting Levi’s and Nikes, stereos would be blasting music by the Spice Girls and the Beatles, and families would aspire to drive someday a Jeep in .....

Imperialism
Number of words: 4860 - Number of pages: 18.... in social species. I mean, look at ants... they'll take over other nests and steal the eggs to eliminate competition and give themselves a boost. It's survival. Humans are that way, only more complex and less instinctive. That in no way makes right... but it does remove some blame from Europeans. The world powers had a "right" to take the land because they said that they did, and back then, as now, supreme rule makes the rules. Also, they thought that they were civilizing the "poor" Africans. Unfortunately, their involvement in Africa held catastrophic results for the Africans: slavery .....

Gun Control: Is It A Problem?
Number of words: 549 - Number of pages: 2.... bare arms," but with that right comes responsibility. As an American with
that right you're not free to shoot anyone or anything at will. Government
should create laws to protect the rights of others.
I believe stricter gun control laws and better education on the use of
guns is necessary. People of the U.S. aren't as rigidly regulated by gun laws
compared to our European neighbors. In the United States it takes anywhere from
a few days to a couple of weeks to get a permit to carry a handgun. However, in
most crimes committed with a handgun, the gun isn't even licensed. More
authority .....
