Why Is Vatican II So Significant In The Modern Church?
Number of words: 517 - Number of pages: 2.... and realistic. The
Church, after the council, was much more down-to-earth and open-minded.
One of Vatican II's changes that took place was that Mass became
vernacular. This change was very important because it made people feel more at a
personal level when mass was held seeing as though the priest was speaking their
language. It made them feel more at home and increased their understanding and
ability to respond.
Another very major and important change that took place due to Vatican
II was the relationship with the Church and the world. "The Church is a human
organization steered by .....

Experiences Of God
Number of words: 774 - Number of pages: 3.... was big enough, my dad bought a dirt bike for me and my brother.
After that, we owned the woods. We would go down there every Friday after
school, and we would hit the woods as soon as we got down there to make
some new trails to ride on. During the summer, there is nothing I like
better than to sit back in the woods, with the sun shining through the
trees, a nice cool breeze blowing, and think about stuff. You always see
those Christian pictures of some proverb and then they have some nature
scene in the background. I always think about that stuff when I'm in the
woods. God is nature, .....

Religion And Discrimination
Number of words: 713 - Number of pages: 3.... cases, the individual is
removed of most (if not all) of their personal autonomy. Most decisions are
made by the cult leader, access to the outside world is often denied, and all
information about the outside world is distorted by the leader. These types of
operations should be intolerable by society.
Second, there should be no tolerance for ‘religions' that espouse any
form of sacrifice, be it human or animal. Although historically, these
practices were more or less prevalent and accepted, there certainly is no place
for them in modern times.
Lastly, there should be a limit of religio .....

The Longest Day
Number of words: 658 - Number of pages: 3.... scientists can tell the exact location of the planets and their
moons for years into the future. By the same means, they have been able to
backtrack and determine these specific locations in the past. It was during one
such search that the extra day appeared.
From various accounts of the incident, it appears that something "did not
compute." The extra day was just there. There was no computer malfunction; there
was no explanation for the interruption of normal time patterns.
When this apparent error appeared and no explanation was forthcoming, one of the
scientists related that he had stu .....

A Non-Religious Contract In America
Number of words: 1039 - Number of pages: 4.... We cannot
argue the fact that there are more divorces in the country today that there were
20 years ago. This points to America's increasing acceptance of divorce.
Therefore, we can conclude that religion has become less of an issue for many
Americans when marrying because most religions strongly discourage divorce, some
to the point of not allowing it at all. This leads to the question, "What is
today's basis for marriage?"
Some propose that the sole purpose of marriage be to bring life into the
world. If this were true, then it would be unacceptable for many in this
country to ever b .....

God And A Divine Plan?
Number of words: 1194 - Number of pages: 5.... but when we do go we go to a Baptist church. We have also attended Lutheran and Protestant churches with friends. I feel that I have a close relationship with God even though I do not attend church on a regular basis. I was really never told by my parents that everything in life happens for a reason, nor was I told that what happens in life happens because of blind fate, they have always told me to make the best of my life and to go as far as I possibly can in life. So reasonably, I have always believed that I decide what happens in my life, and that there are many different paths to ch .....

considered enemies of the state. The penalty for heresy was torture and death.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ, "Jesus was taken to Golgotha and nailed to a
cross, the Roman punishment for political offenders and criminals."2 The
Crusades, "The name Crusade (from Latin, "Cross") was also applied, to the wars
against pagan peoples, Christian heretics, and political foes of the papacy."2
All three examples illustrate how man has used God to justify his greed and
quest for power. When the leadership was challenged, it used devine de .....

Buddhism
Number of words: 1198 - Number of pages: 5.... that everybody should want to follow in his or her path through life. Buddha wanted to be known as someone who taught others kindness and wellness, he never wanted to be a god like others did in different religions. He just wanted to be known as a man who transformed himself, and in turn set out to transform others.
In there are several basic beliefs to be learned and followed. These beliefs are from past experiences that Buddha went through in his life and now teaches to others. I will list the major points and then give a brief explanation of what each means.
1. All existence is su .....
