Weather Forecasting
Number of words: 968 - Number of pages: 4.... many local
television and radio stations have made private forecasts for small areas.
Meteorologists are people who interpret the weather, the reason I don't
say predict the weather is because even though all forecasters have the same
information and data at their fingertips, the way that they interpret what is in
front of them can be different. Meteorologists receive information from various
sources, but their interpretation of the data determines the accuracy of their
prediction.
Someone might ask, "If forecasters have so much information on a
particular area; how could they .....

Photosynthesis
Number of words: 377 - Number of pages: 2.... put your syringes containing leaf material in the dark prior to illumination?
The reason this was done was to make sure as little oxygen as possible was contained in the leaf material. This coused the experimrnt to run properly. If the leaf material was not placed in the dark, the dark reaction would not have occured using up all the oxygen. If there was still oxygen in the leaf material, the data collected would have been off. The reason for this is that the leaves would have risen to the top of the liqiud quicker, because they would not have had to make the totql amount of oxygen.

Human Cloning
Number of words: 910 - Number of pages: 4.... to eight separate petri dishes. Even though this process sounds simple enough it has never fully worked because of abnormalities that occur like if the embryo is developed by two sperm cells the chromosome count is wrong. Another is as the cells duplicate they usually do not make it passed the 32-cell stage or 64 because of abnormalities in the environment or just because the process is not natural. The real reason why it does not work yet is not clearly known at the moment.
Since became such a distinct possibility with Dolly being born many ethical and moral issues have been brought up. Fir .....

Aluminum: The Element
Number of words: 326 - Number of pages: 2.... silicate or as a
silicate of aluminum mixed with other metals such as sodium, potassium,
iron, calcium, and magnesium. Charles M. Hall and Paul L. T. Heroult,
independently and almost simultaneously found out that alumna, or aluminum
oxide, would dissolve in fused cryolite (Na3AlF6) and then could be
decomposed electronically into a crude molten metal.
Uses-
The given volume of aluminum weighs less than one-third than steel. Its
high strength to weight ratio makes it very useful. We use it from foils to
cans, to space shuttles. This element is very, very useful and is
recyclable. We us .....

Nuclear Strikes
Number of words: 2401 - Number of pages: 9.... bomb. These terrorists have never been caught in the
United States but numerous times in Europe.(www.pbs.org) As a matter of fact,
the Russians say someone stole a bomb simulator, which will explode and make
mushroom cloud but has no nuclear component.(Wilkie) People know that despite
efforts to keep control on the old Soviet stockpile and waste, terrorists are
getting the plutonium and uranium needed to make nuclear weapons to kill masses
of people. This is kind of the history of the nuclear & atomic bomb: (all from
Williams) The first atomic bomb was thought up by Albert
Einstein in the la .....

The Planet Venus
Number of words: 329 - Number of pages: 2.... the surface. There is over 100,000 volcano’s and they dot the surface. One flow out of a volcano is over 4,300 miles long.
Venus was the first planet to be reached by a space probe. The space probe Mariner 2 flew close to Venus that sent information to Earth. The Mariner 2 was from the United States. A space probe from the Soviet was called the Venera 7. It was the first probe to land on Venus. When it landed it stopped working because the temperature was so hot. The first color pictures was from the space probe Venera 13.
Venus, Jupiter and the moon formed a triangle on 2-17-99 and .....

Air Pollution
Number of words: 475 - Number of pages: 2.... fumes from the engines of automobiles contain a number of polluting substances, including carbon monoxide and a variety of complex hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and other compounds. When acted upon by sunlight, these substances undergo a change in composition producing the brown, photochemical smog for which Los Angeles is well known. Efforts to reduce pollution from automobile engines and to develop pollution-free engines may eventually eliminate the more serious problems. In the meantime, however, has driven many forms of agriculture from the Los Angeles basin, has had a serious effect .....

Hurricanes A-level
Number of words: 882 - Number of pages: 4.... heavy rainfall.
When the hurricane reaches its maturity an eye develops in the centre, in the eye there is a relative area of subsiding pressure. Which is what causes clear skies, anomalous high temperatures and light winds. Eventually the eye disappears as a result of the descending air increasing instability, which in turn warms and increases the storms intensity. Around the eye there are towering Cumulo-nimbus clouds. The hurricanes decline as soon as the source of heat is lost/or removed. Although it can take between 9 and 15 days for this to happen. Winds immediately around a hurrican .....

Ensuring Our Future Through Conservation
Number of words: 1001 - Number of pages: 4.... rainforests are an integral part in our world's ecosystem, and therefore need to be conserved as best we can. The rainforests provide safety and life to millions of kinds of life, they may contain cures to many of the world's diseases, and they provide over 60 percent of the world's supply oxygen to humans and other animals. Destroying these beautiful and key parts of the world would be catastrophic to mankind. There are many ways in which we can conserve our natural rainforests, and thus partly ensure our survival on earth. Two of these ways are through education of mankind on just how m .....

Finding Mass Using The Inertial Balance
Number of words: 575 - Number of pages: 3.... and a triple beam balance.
Procedure: 1) The class will measure the period of oscillation of their balance pans when they are empty. The accepted period will be the average of the class. To find the period, you will measure the amount of time it takes for your balance to complete 20 oscillations. The period (T) will be computed by taking your time and dividing it by 20. This will be recorded as T2.
2) You will then measure the mass of your empty pan (including all screws) and record this as m2.
3) You will then measure the mass of one c-clamp. Record this as m1 accepted. .....
