Feminism And Gender Equality In The 1990s
Number of words: 2064 - Number of pages: 8.... selfish and evil.
I remember in a particular story I once read and the effect it had on me. It was a story in the McCall Magazine dated December 1949, called “A Weekend with Daddy.” A little girl, who lives a lonely life with her mother, who is divorced, and intellectual know-it-all psychologist, goes to the country to spend a weekend with her farther and his new wife, who is wholesome, happy, a good cook and gardener. There is love, laughter, growing flowers, hot clams and a gourmet cheese omelet, and square dancing, and she doesn’t want to go home! But, pitying her poor mother t .....

Definition Essay Of Multiculturalism
Number of words: 491 - Number of pages: 2.... reason. How can multiculturalists say that this is fair to society? A just society is a society that lets one determine his or her beliefs and doesn‘t try to influence them one way or another. Society by definition means people as a whole not as individual groups. “As more and more people begin to regard loyalty to group as more important than loyalty to country, we get a chilling preview of what the United States might be like if each of us maintains our own culture, if we reject mainstreaming and assimilation, and if in fact there is no mainstream.“1
Multiculturalism can cause ra .....

Censorship
Number of words: 944 - Number of pages: 4.... Behaviour
What is Obscenity? Clearly something hard to talk about constructively.
"Obscenity" is difficult to discuss honestly. After all, what makes a thing
obscene? It is Something too vague perhaps to be defined. It's an elusive
term we use, but can't explain. Different people often see things
differently. Some see obscenity in nude pictures, statues, paintings, etc.
While others find less obscenity in these things. All the same, "obscene"
isn't the same as "wrong" or "bad". Clearly obscenity is not identical with
evil. It only covers a single segment of it. But what is that segment .....

Racism
Number of words: 1343 - Number of pages: 5.... different skin colours and unique physical features come into contact
with each other and the two compete for the same thing. History shows that
all attempts at a racial dominance result in conflict and avoidance.
But, some communities without disturbed racial conflict can take
advantage of all its citizens potential and move toward elimination.
Our hate is caused by witnessing the behaviour of the Ku Klux Klan,
our unfavourable feeling toward a person without actual facts and the
verbal abuse that we get almost every day of our lives (if not us, then
there is someone in the world b .....

Number of words: 910 - Number of pages: 4.... has extra time on his or her hands, he or she might want to converse with teacher about how his or her grades are doing, and this is a direct effect of their study techniques. These examples are study techniques that can lead to more efficient learning.
When studying at a decent time, such as studying before he or she goes out to party or studying before it is 3:00 in the morning, the efficiency of learning rises tremendously. If a student were to stay up late at night, he or she would be concentrating more on sleep than study time. When studying at a decent time, the student retains .....

Number of words: 806 - Number of pages: 3.... for the health
and well being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing,
housing, and medical care and necessary social services, and to the right
to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood,
old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
This is a step in the right direction. However, this is not enough.
These rights are subject to the discretion of the government of the country
who decides to obey these universal rights. How much is "adequate"?
The government, both at the federal and municipal levels, is .....

The Effects Of Divorce
Number of words: 2240 - Number of pages: 9.... widely. Wallerstein and Kelly (1980) observed and
interviewed parents and children three times in five years, and reported an
estimate of one third of the children come out of divorce unharmed. Another one
third function adequately, but experience difficulties, and the remaining one
third have severe upsets in their developmental process. However the authors of
the "Family in Transition", approach this finding with caution because the
conclusions were made without comparing the children of two parent families.
Never the less they do note there are overall trends in the functioning of
child .....

Moral And Ethical Dilemmas
Number of words: 1975 - Number of pages: 8.... to present
problems and can confuse and obscure possibilities. Even the opinions or
actions of friends faced with similar dilemmas may not be helpful. Often you
feel pressured by piers that say, "it's no big deal", or "you'll understand
later". It's important that I understand why a particular action or resolution
is correct or incorrect. If I can't or don't it's difficult to feel I've been
honest with myself. That for me can be a good measure of ethical behavior, my
conscience.
The ideal way to deal with difficult questions is to have a foolproof
formula. Find steps that will alw .....

Violence In The Media
Number of words: 440 - Number of pages: 2.... sad fact that we find violence so entertaining, but hell, it is. I freaking
love to see movies where there are more scenes of mindless violence than there
are actual scenes of acting. These movies are aimed at the lowest common
denominator because intelligent movie goers are as extinct as the Dodo bird.
Movies like Showgirls make more money than Panther because they are more fun,
not because they are better. It will always be this way. The government should
not, and can not, keep us from seeing what we want to see.
Just for a moment, let's pretend we live in a future where TV containing .....

Police Brutality: What's Really Going On?
Number of words: 521 - Number of pages: 2.... him. In this case the police reacted to a tense
situation with force and confidence that what they were doing the right
thing.
The police that the author talked to said they would have reacted
the same way and most of the police officers that were interviewed said
that was the right thing to do. Some said they weren't rough enough.
What people saw in this case was the police officers beating Mr.
King without mercy. I don't think that's what happened I think that's what
people wanted to see. "What people think they see in a police incident is
not always what happens" Sergeant Stace .....
