Stonewall Jackson
I chose as my topic. He is a well-known figure from the
Civil War. I chose him because I wanted to research someone on the
confederate point of view, opposed to the Union. I wanted to learn more
about that side of the war, living in the north I feel I know more about
the Union’s role.
was born in 1824, in Clarksburg, Virginia (now West
Virginia), with the name Thomas Jonathan Jackson. He went through an
inadequate country school as a child there. In 1842, he managed to secure a
place for himself at the U.S. Military Academy.
