Review Of The Great Gatsby
Number of words: 439 - Number of pages: 2.... Jim Gatz and Jay Gatsby were two different people. It was also confusing figuring out the theme of this novel . At first I thought it was about wealthy people not being happy, but all the wealthy people were happy in sick ways. What I also found to be confusing was all the married couples and all of the mistresses. Everyone who was married seemed to be cheating with a dozen mistresses. This book was hard for me to understand.
My other reason for not liking this book was because of its realistic theme. In the beginning Jay Gatsby was seeing Daisy until he was sent to war. When he left .....

Catcher In The Rye: Holden Goes Through A Fall From His Innocence
Number of words: 969 - Number of pages: 4.... is so lonely
all the time. Holden finds things in common with Allie and James Castle
and since they're both dead he feels, in the back of his mind, that he
should also be dead which makes him depressed.
Another example of a fall for Holden is when he realizes he can't erase
even half the "fuck you's" in the world. This doesn't sound very important,
but it is symbolic because he realizes that he can not be the catcher in
the rye. His dream of shielding all the innocent children from society's
harsh elements has been ruined by this one statement. Now because of this
realization he comes t .....

remaining a functional group.
The novel's main focus is on Ralph and his experiences on the
island. As leader of the group, Ralph has a great deal of responsibility
and must learn how to work with this responsibility. Through the course of
the story, Ralph changes from an adolescent child to a mature person, but
ends up breaking down at the end of the novel. This aspect of Ralph's
character is a way that Golding depicts human behavior in society, which is
the main theme of the book.
As the novel b .....

A Case Of Needing: Serious Revisions
Number of words: 1996 - Number of pages: 8.... line is not the story's main flaw. The biggest
drawback here is a one-two punch of highly technical prose employed to
relate a thoroughly dull story. Karen Randall, the daughter of an eminent
physician, dies as the result of a botched abortion. Art Lee, a Chinese
obstetrician, is accused of performing the D & C that has resulted in her
death. Though Lee is known to be an abortionist, he vehemently denies any
involvement in the case. Lee calls upon his friend, forensic pathologist
John Berry, to clear his name.
John Berry careens back and forth from one Boston hospital to
another, trying to f .....

My Lai 4: A Book Report
Number of words: 985 - Number of pages: 4.... were murdered, and (probably) no VC were in
the area.
I could go into detail about the killing. However, most of the book
was devoted to the time before the massacre, and afterward. The officers
and GIs of "Charlie Company" were introduced in the beginning of the book:
the officers had been social outcasts all their life (LT. Calley & Medina).
Both had decided to devote their life to the military. The GIs were
selected for "Charlie Company" specifically because they had all scored
too low on the initial exam to be put into a regular battalions.
After the massacre, nothing wa .....

THE ILLIAD
Number of words: 711 - Number of pages: 3.... Iliad does just that. Homer’s use of language evokes the passion of his characters and their heartfelt emotions. The Iliad embodies action at it’s very onset, and although long in content, captures and to an extent , possesses it’s reader. I am sure that it is the style and meter, that Homer uses to convey his thoughts, that make the Iliad such a classic epic. Crawford pg. 3 In the opening lines of the Iliad, words of war capture the reader. Rage-Goddess, sing the rage of Peleus’ son Achilles, murderous, doomed, that cost the Achaeans countless losses, hurling down to the House of D .....
