.... aromas ranging from wildlife and wet grass, to evaporated swamp water and healthy dirt. Then, the time for us to find the desired vessel arrived. We chose the kayaks, and set out for the water. Carefully, with our torn-jeans rolled up, and shirts off, we dragged the massive thing over the slope of grass and mud into the shallow stream. We then hopped aboard, grabbed the paddles, and floated and splashed into nowhere. The wavy current sucked us downstream, periodically bouncing us off of sandbags and sharp branches leaning over the water- Now that was true adventure! Minutes later, .....

The peppers and Packwood were ok, but we hadn't planted any tomatoes in that box. But the tomatoes in the next box over were trying to invade it. Tomatoes overflowed everywhere. The third good side was that it was an easy grade to get when we did the assignments on the fieldtrip. The fourth good side of the trip was that we got to eat lunch outside. Why is it that I can go to my refrigerator whenever I want and be able to get a nice, clean drink of water. When Meanwhile in some foreign country some 10 year old kid, who has the same thirst as I do has to go to a lake where the animals bathe to get a foul, disease infested drink. Knowing about these peoples sufferings really makes me realize how important and how special the freedoms that Americans posses are. .....

.... All the furniture was aligned perfectly with the symmetry of the room, like a life size geometry proof. My mother's knickknacks were arranged neatly in their proper order on top of the entertainment center. All of our CD's and tapes were put away in their correct spots behind the clear glass door of the entertainment center.
