Number of words: 1057 - Number of pages: 4.... through a book in a bookstore, Route 66
- The Mother Road by Michael Wallis, and being fascinated by the pictures,
the small towns, the old gas stations, the hamburger joints and the old
signs. This was what had always fascinated me on the road too, more than
the National Parks, Disneyland and the skyscrapers together!
I finally bought the book last year and the Route 66 mystery started to
unfold. My wife and I took a road trip from Phoenix to Detroit last June
but due to time concerns had to pass up on most of the "kicks". Now I
really wanted to do a Route 66 trip! We set aside the time t .....

Creative Story: One Sick Christmas
Number of words: 800 - Number of pages: 3.... Joe stumbled out of the dressing room
in a clumsy fashion. Looking like he had just chugged a couple of kegs,
dragged his oversized Santa coat and pants with him hopping they wouldn't fall

was while watching a crowd gather around it.
"Ya know Claire," Joe said, "I really hate my job."
"Really," replied Claire in a sarcastic tone, "Who doesn't hate little
brats crawling around on your lap."
Joe sat down in his special Santa chair and waited for the first child
to come forward.
The fist kid was about five yr .....

Number of words: 1422 - Number of pages: 6.... Tim said chuckling. "You didn't tell him that we
don't have a phone or the other stuff did you?!" Gwen yelled. "Um, well kinda
yeah, why?" Tim questioned. " Why?" she yelled and stormed off. Gwen was the
type of girl who didn't care what people thought of her, but she didn't like it
when people would find out that she was poor. She had blonde hair, and was very
thin. She wore sequined pants, and these funny looking shirts most of the time,
unless she went out.
"Gwen?, Mike, and Shirley are home. Look I'm sorry I told Tony." Tim
said. "Send Shirley in." Gwen yelled back. "Shirley, Gwen w .....

Creative Writing: Life As A Hummingbird
Number of words: 656 - Number of pages: 3.... for my tree. My mate was awaiting my return, and was soon
rewarded as I pulled up to the carefully camouflaged nest. I passed the silken
strand over to her and left to find some food.
The humans are very good to us and hang tremendous reservoirs of nectar from
various limbs and rafters. The containers come in all shapes and colors but they
all have red bases. I headed for one of these and saw one of my rival males. He
instantly attacked, chirping his anger at my intrusion. I counterattacked and we
began a dogfight. Up and down, we came, zooming into space and plummeting to the
grou .....

Personal Writing: Affectiveness In Communication
Number of words: 478 - Number of pages: 2.... thinking about what the situation is.
Next, my mother’s attitude also played a major part in the way that
she communicates. She is also an assertive person because she is alway
confident about things. My mother also makes assumptions of other people
without adding all the fact. I also observed that she sometimes uses non-
verbal communication skills to substitute for verbal communication skills.
For example, when she is talking about something that is large in size; she
would open her arms wide to show what she is talking about.
Finally, my mother also uses other things to put .....

Creative Writing: The Quest

and walked away, laughing. When we were out of earshot, in a mocking tone, I
said to my friend,
"Hi, I'm an American, I'm a dumb-ass!"
With that defeat behind us, we continued on our quest for some American
money. Eventually, by wandering aimlessly about the mall, we managed to find an
information desk. I walked up to the woman behind the desk, and said,
"Hi, would I possibly be able to exchange my Canadian money for some
American money?"
With a really confused look on her face she responded with, "What do you
mean?"
I reached into my pocket, and pulled out my twent .....

Presonal Writing: My First Impression Of My Teacher Miss Vicki
Number of words: 385 - Number of pages: 2.... the fact that we were going to meet each other for the next 365 days.
Instead of trying too hard to lick her boots, I tried my best to be my natural
self in front of her.
Still, I could not shake off the ice-cold image that she possessed in my
heart. True, her corney jokes sometimes sent me into frolicking laughter, yet at
other times these jokes simply fell flat the moment she uttered them. My lovely
class, however was always ready to laugh at the right time and place of her
amusing stories. Afterall, we would not want to run the risk of her temper
erupting in front of us like Mount Saint .....

The Old Lady Next Door
Number of words: 831 - Number of pages: 4.... like someone died. I don’t even think that she’s ever washed anything in there. When looking inside, you see more garbage than you could ever find in any garbage dump. The seats are all torn up inside, as if she let a wild cat run through her car and tear it up. If you listen very closely you can hear little scratching noises. I think that it’s from the mice and rodents inside the car somewhere.
Now, her dog in the backyard is completely berserk. Every time I look over the fence into her backyard, it’s like I’m seeing it for the first time. There’s only one thing that stays .....
