Ulysee was granted citizenship because of the speech he made before them. He gave that speech with respect and loyalty towards the apes for acceptance. The tones in the book and the movie are different, the tone in the movie is unpredictable and fearful as opposed to the book, which had a calm mellow tone. Her dislike of math class was solely based on the fact that she didn't like our math teacher. She thought that our math teacher was a horrible teacher who couldn't teach and her attitude problems. It was quit astonishing how I could only concentrate on Ms. Smith's positive attributes while my best friend was only able to the negative things of our teacher. Now that I think back I realize that our grade eighth teacher had both the positive and negative attributes .....

The book by Stephen Bates brings up a very controversial issue, should parents be able to control what their children read in public schools. Bates does not criticize either side during this book. Bates does a good job narrating the book giving good details and letting the reader make his/her own decision. Vicki Frost is a parent who does not want her kids reading books that contradict her families beliefs. Frost did the right thing by addressing the school about this problem.
